Overview

Oplu is leading the search for a Chauffeur for a VVIP private principal based in London. This is a confidential appointment at a tier that requires absolute discretion.

The successful candidate drives the Principal day-to-day across the city, holding the standards of protocol, timing, and quiet professionalism that a VVIP private environment requires.

In Oplu terms, VVIP means royal households, senior dignitaries, embassy-grade principals, and super-prime UHNW families where protocol, discretion, and consistency over years are a baseline, not an aspiration.

Who this role suits

VVIP tier only. A Chauffeur with a proven, confirmed track record driving a principal of exactly this profile. Not aspirational, not transitional, not a step up from the corporate chauffeur market. The successful candidate has already done this work, for this type of principal, over years.

Backgrounds that translate directly: Chauffeur to a royal household, embassy, dignitary, or super-prime UHNW principal; long-tenured private driver with confirmed VVIP record; principal driver with embassy-grade protocol literacy and prior high-threat-aware exposure.

Not a fit: senior corporate chauffeurs without principal-residence VVIP exposure; executive-car-service drivers transitioning without principal history; chauffeurs ready to step up to the VVIP tier but without the confirmed VVIP track record.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the Principal day-to-day in London and on wider UK or international assignments as required.
  • Plan routes, timings, and alternatives to deliver reliable, discreet, and on-time journeys.
  • Maintain the vehicle to the highest standard of cleanliness, presentation, and mechanical readiness.
  • Observe strict confidentiality on routes, destinations, passengers, and household information.
  • Follow protocol with external contacts (hotels, venues, security teams, counterparts' drivers).
  • Work seamlessly with household staff, security, and the wider private-office team.

Requirements

Must-haves

  • Proven, confirmed track record as a Chauffeur at the VVIP tier (royal household, embassy, dignitary, or super-prime UHNW principal). Not a step-up role; not a first move into VVIP from the corporate chauffeur market.
  • Verifiable VVIP references.
  • Valid UK driving licence, clean, with full entitlements for the vehicles in use.
  • Good working knowledge of protocol and professional chauffeur etiquette.
  • Absolute discretion and comfort with highly confidential environments.
  • Preferably based in London.
  • Existing right to live and work in the UK.
  • Comfortable signing a Non-Disclosure Agreement before further details are shared.

Strong advantage

  • Prior VVIP private household or embassy/dignitary driving experience.
  • Advanced driving qualifications (RoSPA, IAM, security driving).
  • Close-protection awareness or SIA background.
  • Additional languages.
